A local solo developer, and proud Newtonian, Kevin Ferguson, has launched a brand-new ghost-hunting app, ‘Shadowband’, now available for free on Google Play – just in time for Halloween.
Currently in open beta, ‘Shadowband’ brings together a range of classic and experimental paranormal investigation tools, including an Apparition Scanner, Text Response Spirit Box, Energy Map, and Trigger REM Pod, all within one sleek mobile app. Some of the app’s promotional images even feature recognisable County Durham landmarks, giving local users a chance to spot familiar haunted spots. Adding to its local roots, County Durham’s own paranormal investigation team, the Creepy Blinders, have been testing ‘Shadowband’ during their recent ghost-hunting expeditions.
“I wanted to create something that the local ghost-hunting community could enjoy and experiment with” said the app’s creator. “There are lots of ghost-hunting tools out there, but ‘Shadowband’ brings them together in one place – and adds a few unique twists.”
‘Shadowband’ is available now for free download on Google Play, and the developer welcomes feedback from users during its open beta phase.
