A Bishop Auckland opticians has marked its 30th year in business by hosting a birthday party in store, complete with balloons and cakes aplenty.
Specsavers Bishop Auckland, located at the town’s 45 Newgate St, opened back in 1995 and has become a crucial part of the local community.
The store which is locally owned and run by the director team comprising Tim Mitchison, Maria Sattar, Alice Dixon and Elizabeth Clish, also celebrated its 20th anniversary of offering audiology services including hearing checks, hearing devices and checks, as well as replacements.
Tim Mitchison, Specsavers Bishop Auckland store director, who has been with the store since its opening, says: ‘We had a great day celebrating our 30th birthday and 20th audiology anniversary with our team and the community of Bishop Auckland.
30 years is an incredible milestone, and it’s been a fantastic journey since we opened back in 1995. We have supported several generations of the Bishop Auckland community through thousands of eye and hearing checks, and we look forward to serving new generations as we drive forward the business.’
Steven Hayes, audiology director, says: ‘Many things have changed over the last 20 years, but what remains steadfast is our unwavering commitment to supporting the hearing health of our customers.
We’re proud to offer expert audiology services, and it is a true privilege to witness the positive impact that regular hearing checks have on people’s lives.’
Specsavers, which also offers a Home Visits service for those unable to visit one of its 1,000 locally owned stores, provides a range of eye care services that not only maintain people’s eye health and vision, but also help detect broader health issues.
