Newton Aycliffe based Junior Pro-kart racer Scarlet Whitaker Dunn has been further honing her skills at Teesside Autodrome and at Karting North East (KNE) Sunderland over the first part of August.
Scarlet hasn’t been to Warden Law (KNE) or any other track apart from Teesside Autodrome since 2023 so was very excited for the opportunity
There are no races in the Teesside Sprint Series this month, so the test sessions have been valuable ‘seat time’ for Scarlet and have enabled her team to fine tune the setup of her kart for future races.
The conditions at Teesside were very wet and at KNE were quite hot, so Scarlet has been able to practice in all conditions improving her lap times by a decent margin.
“I’m very glad I got practice time in both dry and wet conditions this month and am still buzzing from being able to go to another track and thoroughly enjoyed the day and the new experience it brought,” said Scarlet.
Scarlet’s mam, Amanda, said, “Scarlet showed very good pace with the changes made to set up and was delighted to be driving at a different circuit with her competitor friends.”
We would like to thank Amaron Racing, PHM (Peninsula Historic Motorsport), Carbon Arc Training and Consultancy, Grandad Ron and Rob Storey for their generous assistance and financial support making this possible.
