Residents living on and around a new housing development in Darlington are being invited to share their views on plans to create a play park in the area.
The play park will form part of the new development at Neasham Road, where Homes by Esh is constructing 155 homes for sale and is part of a joint venture with Darlington Borough Council to build 150 much-needed quality, social housing homes.
The council’s housing team is hosting a special consultation event at Mowden Rugby Club Stadium on Thursday 6 February, 3-6pm, where you can share your views and what you’d like to see included in the play park.
Councillor Matthew Roche, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for health and housing, said: “These new homes are proving very popular with both buyers and tenants, and we’re delighted to be able to include a play park for our younger residents to enjoy.
“However, before work starts, we’re keen to hear what those living in the area think so do come along to the consultation event if you can.”
Work is due to start on the new play park in June and it is hoped it will be ready to open in the summer holidays.
If you are unable to attend the consultation event you can contact the housing team for more details or send in your comments by emailing housing@darlington.gov.uk.
