This week’s litter pick, organised by Ian Gray, took place in and around Cobbler’s Hall play park. As always the pick lasts just one hour with volunteers collecting around 10 sacks of rubbish, glass bottles, a wheel hub, sofa cushions and some plastic fencing.
Every Wednesday since March volunteers have turned out without fail. They do it willingly and have formed new friendships and a great community spirit.
However, we sincerely wish we didn’t have to! Every piece of rubbish we pick up could have been taken home and put in a bin.
Please think twice before you throw your rubbish on to the ground or into a hedge. One sweet wrapper might not seem like much, but it doesn’t just disappear, it contributes to the huge amount of rubbish spoiling our town.
