Dear Sir,
Did you know that our sessions at St Clare’s Church Hall every Wednesday and Friday afternoon’s, 1.30-3.30 pm are more than ‘just’ a foodbank?
We are joined each week by a number of local support groups you can chat to over a cuppa such as Man Health, Sisters of Support, Cornforth Partnership and Community Money Advice among others. You may even be able to get a NHS mini health check!
The week leading up to the August bank holiday weekend, was our busiest in the month for both vouchers fulfilled (families supported) and also for donations received from our fantastic community here in Newton Aycliffe.
As we are ending the school holidays, it’s clear families having been struggling.
A whopping total of 155.9kg was donated directly to us during that week, plus the leftover pastries and cakes from Greggs, cleaning packs from Lifeline and essentials from Tesco.
Shout outs, as always, go to our regular supporters, Tesco, Greggs, Lifeline Community Action, Osborne Gas Servcs, Aycliffe Evangelical Church, as well as a couple of personal donations (who very kindly donated the first pickings from their allotment!).
If you want to support us, the following items would be very much appreciated: small bags of sugar, long life milk, pot noodles, dry dog food, individually wrapped biscuits, tinned meat.
Anything, however small, goes a long way to helping the community who need some extra support. They, and us, are very grateful – thank you.
Aycliffe Foodbank and Drop In.
