Tuesday 25th August saw the return of the Around Town show to Aycliffe Radio, now a monthly show on the last Tuesday of the month from 6.00 to 8.00pm.
My guests on last month’s show included Mary and John O’Sullivan of Sunshine and Showers, and Aycliffe Counselling respectively. Joining Mary and John on the first half of the show was Kayliegh Close. Kayleigh helped to set up a diabetes support group, as a parent of a 19 year old who has Type 1 diabetes, the group are helping others with the kind of support she felt was missing when her son was diagnosed.
In the second half of the show my guests were Carrie Howarth and Colin McNeillie providing their own insight into the very successful Ayclive 2026. Carrie, the volunteer coordinator and one of the event trustees provided an insight into the challenges and highs of setting up and running such a successful event. Colin, a well known presenter on Aycliffe Radio, and a long time supporter of Aycliffe Radio community based events, was one of the many photographers present to capture the atmosphere and energy of the event.
