Students in Years 7-13 at King James I Academy have recently taken part in a career-focused event, which was attended by representatives from a number of local businesses, colleges and universities.
Each year, King James organises a Careers Fair to help students get information about apprenticeships, university courses and a variety of industry sectors, from construction, engineering and healthcare to beauty, fitness, catering, banking and public services. Students were able to find out about the many ways to make a career in healthcare, alongside routes into the RAF, Fire Service and the Police. There were also representatives from a large number of well-known local employers and universities from across the country.
Careers advice and guidance is an important part of the curriculum at King James, and the Academy employs a dedicated Careers Adviser to make sure that students are able to access regular guidance to ensure that they are on track to achieve their future career goals.
