‘New Light on Early Medieval Lindisfarne’.
Speaker is Dr David Petts from Durham University Archaeology Dept.
Holy Island/Lindisfarne is the site of one of the most early medieval monasteries in Britain. It was the home of St. Cuthbert and the site of the production of The Lindisfarne Gospels.
The talk explores the results of recent work on the Island which is starting to unpick the archaeology of the monastery.
