Housebuilder Bellway is offering incentives of up to £22,500 to help buyers in Teesside make their move to a new home in the new year.

It’s all part of a campaign aimed at people who are considering buying a new home and asks them ‘what if’ they could save thousands on the purchase.

Incentives will be available on selected properties at participating Bellway developments in Teesside until Saturday 28 February.

Buyers will be able to choose how to use the additional money, whether that’s adding to their deposit or spending it on other costs such as Stamp Duty.

The participating developments in Teesside are Regency Manor in Wynyard and Hartwell Park in Hartlepool.

Frank Lincoln, Managing Director for Bellway Durham, said: “News of a Bank of England base rate cut to 3.75 per cent has provided a welcome boost for home buyers. This financial incentive will provide a further boost to anyone who is looking to buy a new home in Teesside.

“For some it will add to their savings sufficiently to allow them to put together a large enough deposit to afford a home that would otherwise have been out of their reach. For others, the attraction is that a bigger deposit means reduced monthly mortgage payments.

“Buyers who already have a large enough deposit or are paying outright for their home can also benefit from the offer. They could choose to spend the extra sum on Stamp Duty, fees and moving costs or on items for their new home such as furniture, décor or landscaping for the garden.

“Demand for our homes remains strong and there’s lots of interest from potential buyers, but we realise that some may need a little helping hand to turn their dream move into a reality. Putting customers at the heart of everything we do is one of Bellway’s main business priorities, which is why we wanted to offer a practical incentive to smooth the journey for those looking to start 2026 by purchasing a high-quality new home.”

Michaela and Ian Withycombe received a £20,000 incentive when they bought their new four-bedroom detached house from Bellway in September 2025.

Michaela said: “We used part of that money to pay for the flooring, upgrade the tiling and kitchen worktops and cabinets and to have a number of extras such as more electrical sockets, internet ports, heated towel rails, outside lights and power points in the garage.”
