Shincliffe Girls 1

NAYFC U15 Girls 2

After 3 tough games, today the girls needed to get some points on the board as we travelled to play Shincliffe. We reminded the girls the importance of closing down, high work rate and keeping their shape – today they did this and got their reward. First half against the wind kept the defence on their toes, we were coping well until a low skidding free kick from 25 yards beat Faith and finds the bottom corner. The girls then upped their game, Kally steals the ball out wide, finds Olivia who sends a low cross to Kate, one touch and smashes the ball past the keeper. A couple of scares in our box but Faith was doing her job taking HT to 1-1.

Second half with the wind, as a team they were brilliant but needed some reward for their dominance. Midway through the half, Jess slides a ball to Alex who drives into the box and lashes a shot goal bound, a defender sticks out a leg and it ends up spinning over the line. From that point the girls had the better chances, and a good shout for a penalty, but secured the first 3 pts of the season.

NAYFC Angels Blue Win Against Pools Youth

An outstanding game of football and a brilliant performance from the U10 Blues. It was their toughest test so far this season and they saved their best for it. We played out a tight 0-0 draw with Pools Youth in the cup last season, and so expected another close one.

We had 8 players today, with two unavailable which meant lots of energy was required. All 8 responded brilliantly. Every player on that pitch should be proud again today. The way in which this team play remains a special sight to behold. The Pools team were physical and were also generally taller. This didn’t phase our players. They held their own and came out on top from most challenges. Star player: Sophie who put in a high energy performance. She broke down numerous attacks and started loads of ours. An all round top performance.

NAYFC U16 Eagles 12

Another fantastic performance on Sunday in the rain. Absolutely lovely surface to play on and because of that the Eagles were outstanding. 8 nil up at half time.

Goals from Adam Lowe x4, James Hodgson x4, Evan Thompson x2, Kian Cook x1 and Dylan Bowater x1.

Man of the Match: Kian Cook.
