With the weather changing youth football is certainly heating up for all Newton Aycliffe football teams. Under 10 Eagles 3 – 1 Stockton. Blues The Eagles were dominating from the beginning Owen scored a long range shot from the corner flag powering it in to the top corner. There was some excellent defending and Dan Heaton made two outstanding saves. The second goal came from a pass slotted in from Ashton into Noah. The third goal was a long range shot from Joe the keeper didn’t stand a chance. Although they score one back the defence stood strong with some good tackles from Jack and Sam. U13 Hawk’s 11 – 3 Hylton Rangers The U13’s Hawks were away at Sunderland on Saturday morning to play Hylton Rangers. The pitch was a bit roller coaster shaped and on a slope. The lads started well again, and quickly took the lead. They again played some great passing football and had the opposition chasing the ball for long periods of the game. When they got the ball they did punish the Hawk’s with 3 well taken goals. The final score was Hawk’s 11 – 3 Hylton. Our goals came from Jaydon 2, Adam 2, Dylan 6 and James 1. A good performance by all the lads but MOTM was Evan Bailey-Thompson a solid reliable performance in defence with some great runs forward. Supporter of the week goes to the opposition coaches Chihuahua who came on and played for a while then peed all over the Hawks coach Jonathan Gallagher’s kit on the sideline. Bishop Auckland Girls 2 – 4 U15’sGirls A very blustery morning at Hunwick saw the u15 girls up against their local rivals Bishop Auckland Girls. First half was 50/50 chances from both teams but Katie B managed to get through and hit the back of net leaving 0-1 HT. Bishop scored not long after the start of the second half with a further goal
Youthy FC Round-up from Katie B following. Bishop then stepped up and scored again. With a good passing move between midfielders and strikers saw Katie B get the ball and pass to Molly to score the 3rd. It was Aycliffe pushing now with shot after shot until a final goal from Katie B to complete her hat-trick sealed the game. 2-4 FT. Brilliant game from all girls today and a debut for Ashleigh. U17’s 5 – 2 Dawdon Welfare Dawdon Welfare travelled to the Oak Leaf knowing a win would take Aycliffe up to second in the league . We started off in poor fashion conceding after some poor defending after only 2 minutes. This was the only shot Dawdon had in the first half as the rest of the half camped in their half with wave after wave of attacks from Aycliffe.  It took Aycliffe till the 20 minute to score with a good header into the bottom corner by J Batman. Aycliffe then took the lead 10 minutes later with a tidy little finish from D Godfrey . Half time 2-1 more importantly 35 chances created to there 1. The first 20 minutes of the second half was all one way traffic but Aycliffe still couldn’t find the back of the net. Then a terrible error left Dawdon 2 v1 resulting in them scoring, 2-2. Aycliffe then relied on our keeper to keep them in it with a great save , this kick started Aycliffe with C Bowsher tapped in from a corner, followed by a great team goal capped off by S Ions. D Godfrey typified the hard work Aycliffe showed tonight when he and S Ions pressured the keeper into making a mistake allowing D Godfrey to tap in. 5-2 great all round squad performance with lots of skill and very hard work.
