Aycliffe Youth Council, a group of seventeen young people have donated supplies to the local foodbank in Newton Aycliffe.

Danielle Ord, a Youth Councillor said ‘We decided to give to the local food-bank because we thought it would be a great opportunity for our new and old members to kick start our year with a positive action contributing to our community’.

The Youth Council all donated products from home to ensure those in need can have food especially at Christmas when people need more help.

Last year, the Youth Council collected toys to donate and. Owen Dickinson, the Secretary of the Youth Council spoke about why it’s good for the Youth Council to lead by example. ‘We give to charity, because we believe that young people, and the Youth Council especially, have a moral responsibility helping those who need it’.

The Youth Council is a group of young people who give their time to help make Great Aycliffe better for people in the area.
