We all have ideas about how public money should be spent.  Now you have the chance to decide and you can vote for community projects to go ahead in your area. It’s your money, and it’s your choice, so please get involved.
Anyone over the age of 11 who lives, works, volunteers or is educated in the GAMP AAP area can attend and cast their votes for their favourite local project. The event is being held at Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre (Burn Lane), Saturday 23rd November 2013, between 11.00am and 3.00pm – you can pop in any time between these hours to vote
For a full list of the local projects, please visit the website: www.durham.gov.uk/gampaap or contact the GAMP Team for further information.
Another important aspect of the day is voting on the Area Action Partnership priorities for 2014-15. Please come along to the event and use your vote to ensure your priorities are worked on! You will also have the chance to take part in the Council Budget Consultation to shape where savings are made within Durham Council.
The Area Action Partnerships are committed to making a real difference in your area and we cannot do this without you.  We’ve achieved so much since we began and that’s down to the commitment of partners, and more importantly, local people.  If you want to help continue the good work, then please get involved.
It would be really helpful to us, and will save you time on the day, if you can register to attend the voting event in advance.  Please contact the office if you’re coming along – 01325 327441.
