Woodham Academy hosted its annual Year 11 Celebration/Information Evening recently.  The event marked the beginning of the final year for all the year 11 students.
The evening began with a celebration of the excellent GCSE results achieved in the summer in English Literature, Biology and Science.
All students were then recognised for the progress that they have made in their studies up to the end of Year 10.  Certificates of Achievement were given to students in the following categories: 5 or more A*-C including English and Mathematics, English Baccalaureate and 3+ A*/A grades.
There were also tutor group award winners rewarding students with high effort grades and those with 100% attendance. The night was a mixture of celebrating what the students have achieved so far, but also acknowledging they need to give maximum effort in the build up to their final examinations.
Deputy Headteacher, Jonathan Lumb, said “It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the students’ achievements so far, with parents/carers, and also build in key information about the importance of revision and exam preparation.
We wish all of our students success in their final year at Woodham Academy”.
