Students from Greenfield were able to get a head start recently in preparation for their forthcoming ski-trip.  Students were given the opportunity to have fun and try out the artificial slopes at the Xscape centre at Castleford where the snow is just like the real thing! Students are preparing for their trip to Pila ski-resort in the Italian Alps where they are hoping for plenty of the ‘white stuff’.  Mrs Dixon who accompanied the students to Castleford was really pleased with how well the visit went.

“Getting to grips with the basics before we actually arrive in resort makes such a difference for beginners. Putting boots on, carrying skis and making those first few manoeuvres on the snow takes time and effort. Having this experience makes the students feel more confident and prepared. We’re all really looking forward to getting out onto the slopes in Pila next week” said Mrs Dixon. Last year’s trip was a great success and students are hoping to once again enjoy the thrill of skiing in a fabulous resort and looking forward to a busy and exciting itinerary ahead.
