Xcel send a BIG THANK YOU to the local community for making Christmas at Xcel such a success. This years Christmas production was attended by over 650 people and was a fantastic evening enjoyed by all there.
This year we took up an offering at this event and across our Christmas services and want to say THANK YOU for your generosity as nearly £1600 was raised with the monies being shared between the Philippine Outreach Centre as they work with organisations helping to rebuild the country, and also towards the continued work of Xcel Local.
Xcel Local provided presents for 74 children across 27 families from Newton Aycliffe and the surrounding area of Spennymoor, Ferryhill and Darlington. Every family also received a Christmas hamper. This is in addition to the usual Food Bank requests, with over 1000 people helped during 2013.
The generous giving of our community will enable this work to continue, alongside visits and events for the elderly in local Nursing Homes, our PK Allstars Kids Club which runs in association with the Agnew Community Centre.
A Christmas party for 31 children was held by PK Allstars at the Agnew Community Centre, funded by Livin. For more information about the work of POCM or Xcel Local visit www.xcelchurch.com
