Last Friday, 27th May, Deputy Mayor Michael Dalton had the honour of officially opening the new Crafters Companion store at Horndale Avenue.
A large number gathered outside the store eager to see this magnificent new facility and take advantage of purchasing from the wonderful array of tools and materials crafters need to pursue their hobby.
Founder Sara Davies was thrilled by the response and it was particularly heart-warming to see crowds of people sitting and being taught craft. This is a big part of the set-up with demonstration areas where visitors can hone their skills.
Michael Dalton in opening the store, commended Sara for her entrepreneurship, welcoming the store to Aycliffe and wishing her every success for the future.
Sara said she was excited with the move to Aycliffe and wanted to be involved with the community, working to bring jobs and prosperity to our town.
“I’ve been completely blown away by the response to the opening of our flagship store here in Newton Aycliffe. People travelled from all over the UK to visit us and we’ve also met lots of new customers from the area which is wonderful.
Everything I envisioned it would be all those many months ago has turned into reality, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the store grow and become a central hub for crafters to come, share their skills, make new friends, learn new techniques, and find lots of new products” said Sara.
Readers are encouraged to visit the friendly store and be prepared to be staggered by the range of goods. While there have a cuppa, in the cafe, relax and enjoy yourself.
