GCSE results day at Woodham Academy is always a highlight for all concerned. The ability to celebrate with our hard working students, recognising the five year journey they have completed, tops off an often hectic academic calendar.

With GCSE exams being cancelled this year, the school felt it was vital that these students didn’t miss out on this experience. A staggered timetable was created to help maintain social distancing, but this didn’t dampen the spirits of those who attended.

Deputy Headteacher, Sarah Dickinson, explains “We were clear from the outset that the efforts of these students needed to be celebrated. A professional photographer was hired to capture the moment students revealed their grades and could celebrate with family and friends. GCSE results are far more than a year 11 experience. They recognise students’ full journey, one which we are proud to help them with. Well done and good luck to all our outgoing year 11’s.”
