GREAT Bargains for All
Dear Sir,
In response to the closure of Woodham Golf Club, and the loss of many jobs, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members, customers and staff for their support, over the past twenty years in Newton Aycliffe.
It’s so sad to see this great facility closing down.Woodham Golf Club dates back some thirty years, being designed by the well-known golf course architect, the late James Hamilton-Stutt in 1981.
It’s known amongst professional golfers across the area as one of the best layouts for a course in the north east. Woodham has produced two county champions: Lee McCavanagh (Durham County Matchplay Champion 2010) and Rebecca Horner (Durham County Ladies’ Champion 2012). This should be atribute to all those involved in its construction. We all hope that it will reopen intact as a golf course soon, not only for the golf, but for the social side too.
Due to the lack of notice from the Administrators to everyone employed at the golf club, we had to clear the clubhouse within a few hours.
I am now in the situation of possessing golf equipment and golf related stock without premises to sell-on the goods. I would like to invite all to see the goods I am selling off at Woodham Village Community Centre, St. Elizabeth’s Close, on Sunday 17th November from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Customers with outstanding lessons please contact Ernie.wilson@live.co.uk for tuition to be taken at local golf course.
