On Thursday 11th July 2013 8 Woodham Academy students went to Framwellgate School in Durham to be trained as peer supporters. It is an initiative inspired by Princess Diana whereby young people support other young people.
Our students networked with other students from around the County to exchange ideas and share good practice. They gained practical ideas and received top tips on how to ensure that everybody feels safe and happy in their school.
The Ambassadors will now take their ideas back to school and develop our peer support programme which will strengthen the existing excellent support already embedded at Woodham Academy.
All of the Young Ambassadors were excellent representatives of the school. Joshua Blackburn and Jordan McAteer were awarded certificates for their excellent contribution to the day.
