Woodham Academy’s Lets Get Cooking Club invited their friends, family, Governors and teachers to enjoy a 3 course meal. The pupils prepared, cooked and served dishes such as tomato and basil soup with homemade bread, chicken paupiette and crème brulee followed by hand crafted chocolates.
The evening was very successful and enjoyed by all. Linda Vipond, Woodham Academy’s chef, said “I am extremely proud of all club members, they have demonstrated that they can work together as a team using good communication skills. The food and service was of a high standard and most of all everyone enjoyed the evening.
The aim of the club is to join a national network, teaching new cooking skills to children and their families. The club runs on a Wednesday 3.15pm to 5.00pm and is keen to involve the local community and family members in their activities. We will be preparing and cooking lots of healthy yet tasty dishes that everyone can take home and enjoy with their families.
