Dear Sir,

In response to Mrs Ward – Thompson article “Protect against winter pest invaders “I wholeheartedly concur with her article regarding getting professionals in to do the job correctly the first time, as over my past 33 years as a pest controller I have seen some “cowboys” in this trade who like to call themselves pest controllers.BPCA are not the only recognised trade body to represent pest controllers, the NPTA (National Pest Technicians Association) are also available to all professional pest controllers, and are equally recognised as being another trade body. Pest controllers members of the NPTA can have their details and qualifications checked at any time and their details can be verified from NPTA website at http://npta.org.uk/ All NPTA members carry a membership card with a photograph – again checkable.

I get really tired of people saying the BPCA is the only available trade body to pest control yet a simple Google database check can inform the public otherwise. I hope this sets the record straight.
