Dear Mr. Howarth,

I would like to thank you for your excellent article about the state of our town centre and for your efforts in trying to get a response from the landlords.

I would also like to reply to the letter from M. Taylor which was printed last week. Although I can sympathise with the writer over his interrupted sleep due to the ongoing works, at least he knows he has a job to go to in the mornings. My husband and I cannot sleep because of the stress and worrying if we will have a business, jobs or even our home in the next few months.

This is all due to the disruption and downturn in trade caused by the “improvements”, guaranteed to cause insomnia. I would gladly swap places and buy some earplugs!
