This weekend Newton Aycliffe Wildlife Explorers will be having the first of their monthly meetings for 2013. The topics are Ospreys, and identifying common birds using binoculars and telescopes.

A slide show about Ospreys will be given by Les Carr, a Newtonian who is a keen volunteer at the Loch Garten Osprey Centre in Scotland, who has helped monitor these fascinating birds for many years.

The meeting is on Sunday 24th March in the Moore Lane Eco Centre from 2:00 till 3:30. We will be welcoming new members as well as seeing our existing ones.

If you are interested, please come along – we will be happy to meet you. Refreshments will be supplied. As usual, there will be a small charge of £1 except new members whose first meeting is free.

On April 21st we meet at Aycliffe Nature Park when we will be holding a nature hunt to try and spot spring flowers and wildlife. We would ask people to dress suitably for this meeting, depending on the weather.
