The Newton Aycliffe Youth FC, Wildcats Girls football development programme, continues to grow, as more and more girls are wanting to participate in girls football. This FA backed initiative is now in it’s 3rd year, and over 100 girls have attended the introductory sessions in Newton Aycliffe, for the complete novice, and then progressed to playing team football for the club in local leagues. The club now has 6 girls teams and a senior women’s team preparing for next season

On Sunday 2 June 2019, the newest recruits to the programme had an opportunity to show off their amazing progress, as they attended a Wildcats Festival of Football organised by Durham FA.

The club took along an under 7 and an under 8 team made up of 16 girls currently attending the sessions every Sunday morning. The coaches were delighted to report that the day was a huge success for both teams, with smiles all round as they successfully competed against other Wildcats centres from across the county. The future of the girls football in Newton Aycliffe is assured.

The Wildcats development section, organised by Newton Aycliffe Youth FC, offers young girls from the age of 5 to 10 years old (Reception class to year 5), a chance to play football in a safe, fun environment without the pressures of competitive team football, whilst they are introduced to the game.

If your daughter would like to come along, and see if football is a sport for them, there are still places left each Sunday morning. If you are interested contact Berni 07939 045242.
