On Friday 17th November, staff and pupils at Stephenson Way Academy were seeing spots before their very eyes as they joined with people around the country to raise money for the well-known charity, Children in Need.

Before the big day itself, the children were set the challenge of designing a Children in Need T.shirt of their own by recycling an old T-shirt or top.

The colourful convoy that made it’s way onto the yard that Friday morning, amid a flurry of feathers and glitter, was a spectacle to behold.

As ever, the children (and their grown-up helpers) had pulled out all the stops with an array of elaborate designs that would not have looked out of place on the catwalks of Paris!

A Pudsey themed assembly gave the perfect opportunity for a T-shirt parade and everybody clapped and cheered the models as they showed off their handiwork. In lessons, pupils gained more of an insight into who their £1 donations were helping and discussed what ‘need’ meant.

With our Pudsey ears packed away for another year, the children from nursery right through to Year 6 were proud to hear that they’d raised £245 for this very worthy cause.

Well done everyone!
