Dear Sir,

Once again I find myself writing this article to all of you good people from Newton Aycliffe and surrounding areas. I do not need to tell you that we are once again in a total lockdown of our area. This means that no families or visitors at all are allowed into our care homes in the coming weeks.

Your help with this appeal, last time this happened, was simply wonderful, and so, I am asking again for your help. Please if you could write a card or letter to any resident in our town care homes, I know they will be gratefully received.

The same Covid-19 protection procedures as before please.

Leave your letter/card for 72 hours after writing it, do NOT seal it. Take or post it to any care home near you, you can place it in a plastic folder if possible for extra protection for the receiver.

Write anything at all, who you are, what your likes or dislikes are, just general news about yourself, always asking the person you are writing to for their name, their family and life story. Put your address on the letter/card, as they may wish to write back to you.

A very big THANK YOU for thinking about doing this again, it brings such a lot of pleasure to those who receive them.

May God bless you for your thoughtfulness and kindness.

Pam Lovelass (Pastoral Assistant in The Parish of Great Aycliffe).
