County Durham classes, which teach little ones water confidence, are back with a splash. Children between two and six years old can enjoy 30 minutes of instructor-led fun and games, followed by 30 minutes of free time in the pool when the Ready, Sett, Splash sessions return this month. Kaye Stephenson, principal aquatics manager at Durham County Council, said: “Teaching children to swim is much easier if they’re already relaxed with being in the water. “Our Ready, Sett, Splash sessions are perfect for introducing young children to the pool. By joining in with Brock the badger and his friends’ games, little ones will become confident and happy in the water, all whilst having lots of fun.” Sessions, priced at £4 per child and adult, take place at: • Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, Tuesday, 11am – 12 noon and Saturday 2pm – 3pm • Woodhouse Close Leisure Complex, Monday 11am – 12 noon, Thursday 12 noon – 1pm and Saturday 11.30am – 12.30pm Visit www.durham.gov.uk/swimming or call or visit your local leisure centres directly to book a space.
