Dear Sir,
I am writing in response to the article entitled ‘Slow Down’, I feel carers have a hard job as it is, to then be accused of not caring how they drive and driving carelessly.
Where is the evidence of the large percentage that this article suggests?
Also, how does the author of this letter notice a lot of carers who make home visits?
How do they know they are carers?
And how do they know that the carers don’t care about how they drive?
Did this person carry out a survey?
I think, to criticise how carers drive, the writer needs to consider how other people drive in their chosen occupations, not just targeting carers.
However, it is nice they have taken the time to consider the consequences of careless driving without thought for other road users, safety or speed. But come on, give carers a break! They worked all through Covid-19, out in all weathers, all hours – give them support.
Mrs Helen Boyd.
