The ladies of Heighington W.I. have been busy knitting Twiddlemuffs to help people suffering from dementia. The muffs have items attached to keep dementia patients’ hands active and busy. Strands of textured ribbons, beads, bells, trinkets and various fabrics are attached to both the inside and the outside. The more variety and colour the better.

We have donated a number of these to the Grosvenor Care Home in Darlington, now home to a valued former member of our WI, and to the Rose Lodge Care Home in Newton Aycliffe. The photographs show our members with residents.
