Linzi Nicholls from Lifeline Community Action (LCA) successfully co-ordinated a team of enthusiastic volunteers when they bag packed in Asda on Saturday 25th July 2015.  Linzi and her team raised a staggering £1050.04 for local people who have struggled financially and been living well below the breadline or people who have suffered ill health or disability over the past year and are in desperate need of a break.
LCA an Aycliffe charity fundraise every year to make sure people with the greatest needs get a break for a few days away just to relieve some of the stress and give people time to recover and feel more able to cope when they return home.
Asda’s Community Life Colleague Gemma Purdy congratulated Linzi and her team for the efforts in raising the cash in their Bishop Auckland store; she wishes LCA success with future fundraising events to help people in great need. Gemma also stated that Asda prides themselves in supporting local communities and feel privileged to have been able to help LCA with the bag pack fundraising event.
Two of the youngest volunteers Rachel Bremner and Bailey Nicholls (pictured) were supervised by the adults to help count all of the cash.
