Residents at a Newton Aycliffe care home were feeling the love after the King of Rock and Roll stopped by for a special Valentine’s performance.
Residents at Rose Lodge care home on Cobblers Lane, a residential care home which also offers specialist care for those living with dementia, couldn’t help falling in love with Elvis impersonator ‘Mike Memphis’ who performed all the King’s classic tunes before handing out roses to the lovely ladies of Rose Lodge to the tune of ‘Love me Tender.’
Nicola Wheatley, Home Manager at Rose Lodge, Said: “Many of our residents are big Elvis fans and the live concerts from Mike Memphis are always a big hit.
We thought that we would ask him to present our ladies with a rose as a special Valentine’s Day treat. They absolutely loved the surprise. It’s been a really memorable day for all involved.”
Rose Lodge, owned by care provider Countrywide Care Homes, was named as the 7th highest recommended care homes in the North East in a poll by carehome.co.uk last year.
