Durham Deafened Support (DDS) are seeking a person who has an interest in working with deafened and hard of hearing adults and their families, has excellent communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised
The successful applicant must be computer literate, deaf aware and have an understanding of issues that may affect mental health and wellbeing.
The successful applicant will meet with Community Groups to promote Durham Deafened Support and will undertake follow ups with referred clients The successful applicant will have an understanding of equipment available for people with hearing loss.
Access to own transport is essential as the post will involve travel throughout the area. The post will have a 3 month probationary period. P/T Outreach Support Worker, 16 hrs, £7,488 per annum.
DDS encourages self help and gives support to people with an acquired hearing loss living in County Durham & Darlington areas. DDS encourages applicants with a hearing loss to apply for this post. This post is fixed term to March 2015.
