The incredible sum of £600 was raised by Aycliffe Village Residents’ Association (AVRA) for Aid to Ukraine, after a jazz social night in Aycliffe Village Hall. The music was led by Alan Thompson, well-known local saxophone player and former village policeman.
AVRA decided to donate the money to the Rotary Ukrainian Appeal and thanks to the amazing generosity of Aycliffe Villagers and friends who attended the event, this means that the fund has now risen to more than £4000. This is a tremendous response to a horrendous situation and shows the caring and generous nature of the people in this area.
Well done to all concerned.
