On Saturday 12th October 9 Greenfield girls gave up their weekend to be a part of the U16 Netball squad who qualified for North Durham County Netball Tournament held at Harton Technology College.
The girls played some tough opposition including Durham High, Consett Academy and Bishop Barrington where many girls play at county standard.  The girls played the best ever with their Netball skills reaching new heights.
A total of 8 matches were played and Greenfield won 3 matches, managed 3 half scores and 2 losses which was a fantastic achievement, one that has never been matched before in previous seasons.
The girls showed grit and determination in every game even when the winter weather crept in. Team player of the tournament was won by Leonie Wong in Year 10, a huge congratulations to Leonie.
I was so proud of the team on Saturday for their phenomenal netball and they really showed how Netball at Greenfield is progressing into teams that can compete at a similar standard against the best from the county.
Well done to Zoe Blakey, Megan Cross, Elle Cliff, Kate Scowen, Abbie Dunn, Ellie Stevens, Amber Dolby, Nicole Ward and Leonie Wong.
