The annual Vibe Awards was held in Darlington, on the 20th June. The aim is to recognise all young people who have made a significant achievement, with progression or impact in their life. Chloe Miller (19) an Aycliffe girl was nominated by Darlington College to receive an award for “Achievement Against the Odds” in life. She received the award from Chief Inspector Chris Knox.

Not only did Chloe get this award but was also shortlisted in her category which she won and received the Shining Star Vibe Award. The panel of Judges selected one young person from each category who they thought deserved extra recognition for their accomplishments. Chloe, who has cerebral palsy, was given only minutes to live at birth, and her parents was told to prepare for the worst. However Chloe survived and has come through every challenge she’s faced and has never let her disability get in the way. Her Mam and Dad, John and Annie Miller said they are so proud and overwhelmed by her achievements, and she continues to surprise everyone.
