Celebrity antiques expert David Harper has helped Newton Aycliffe Rotarians raise more than £1000 for local charities. The BBC television personality spent an evening with the Rotarians and their friends at Woodham Golf Club where after a Carvery Dinner he answered questions on antiques ranging from the value of a pottery bowl and a first edition of Byron’s poems, to the law regarding the purchase and sale of jade and ivory items.
David is pictured above (third left) with (l-r) Rtn. Roger Curtis, Rotary Club President Denese Cartwright and Rtn. Mary Waine. The event was organised by Roger and Mary.
“It was a very successful evening in every respect. The money we raised will enable us to continue supporting many Rotary charities and deserving causes,” said Roger. Many remarked on the quality of the food and service provided by Woodham Restaurant.
