Turkish born Emre Sahin (27) moved to Newton Aycliffe after marrying Nicola in 2006 whom he met while she was on holiday in his country.
The couple have a 7 year old boy Emrehan and a 2 year old daughter Alara who had the honour of cutting the ribbon to open the new Barbershop.
Nicola was born in Newton Aycliffe and attended Woodham Comprehensive School.
The popular traditional barber has worked in the town since 2007 and has just moved into new premises at the Blue Bridge Centre as a tenant of Newton Press.
Emre trained as a barber in Turkey from being a young boy when he worked in the family business. His sister also runs a ladies hairdressing business in his home town Adana.
“My Grandfather taught and inspired me and I have a passion to bring traditional Turkish barbering to Newton Aycliffe” said Emre.
He has a very well equipped and comfortable barbershop designed in vintage style wood with upholstered leather seating.
Gary Hudson of Aycliffe a time served joiner was asked to get involved in preparing Emre’s new shop and was honoured to help. “Emre gave me a few ideas and we have transformed the premises. I would like to wish Emre the best of luck with his new barbershop” said Gary.
The Barbershop offers men’s image grooming, designing and traditional haircutting along with Emre’s speciality –  a Turkish wet shave!
It is a traditional walk-in Barbers, but appointments can be made by ringing Emre on 07738 066 723.
