Discover tips and advice for tracing your ancestors at Durham County Records’ popular family history course.

Led by an experienced archivist the course introduces people not only to family history, but to the record office and the resources that are available to the public.

The course aims to provide beginners with the tools and knowledge they need to take the first steps in tracing their ancestry.

The course takes place at Durham County Record Office, County Hall and lasts for three weeks. It will run on Monday evenings from 6pm to 8pm on 1st October, 8th October, and 15th October, Friday mornings from 10am to 12noon on 5th October, 12th October, and 19th October, and Thursday mornings from 10am to 12noon on 1st November, 8th November and 15th November.

The cost is £30 per person for each course. Places must be booked in advance as there are a limited number. Demand is expected to be high so please book now to avoid disappointment.
