On Saturday 24th May the U12’s attended a football tournament held at Redcar Town football ground. The day started well winning 4 out of our 5 group games which saw us win the group playing some outstanding football.
On to the semi final with the rain well and truly set in we kept the momentum going and managed to secure a 3 nil win.
In the finals Darlington RA took the lead with both teams playing some fantastic football. We managed to equalise through a penalty and at this stage the game could have gone either way. On the final whistle it was 1-1. and on the dreaded penalty shoot-out we won!
I could not be happier with the way the team performed as they played with a togetherness we rarely see and goes to show what can be achieved when we play this way. This team will be entering their 6th season together and I am so pleased they have something to show for the hard work and dedication put into this win. I am sure it will put us on the front foot for the start of the upcoming season – well done!
