Community Event – Free Admission

The town’s Rotary Club have changed the day of the annual Christmas Community Concert at the Leisure Centre to a Tuesday to allow more Schools to take part.
This year Alice Jordan who has broken into the local entertainment scene in a big way will be taking a solo spot and is guaranteed to impress the audience.
Alice is only 15 and suffers from Autism, but she is rather special and her voice has to be heard to be believed.
Schools performing include Greenfield, Woodham, Sugar Hill, Vane Road, Aycliffe Village, Byerley Park and St. Joseph’s with a rich variety of singing, dancing and band music. In between the musical items the audience will join in favourite carols and songs.
John Melvin will provide the sound system and the Concert on Tuesday 16th December starts at 2pm concluding at 3.30pm.
A special invitation goes out to the care homes in Newton Aycliffe to bring their residents for a pleasant afternoon’s entertainment among young people.
Admission is free and a warm welcome is extended to everyone to join in this  wonderful pre-Christmas event.
