Newton Aycliffe Cricket Club’s under 11’s and u13’s Presentation Night was held at a packed out Sports Club on Wednesday 31st August and the main awards of the night were as follows :The Development team player of the year was won by Charlie Walton and the Summer School player of the year was won by Gregor Mills. U11’s player of the year was Josh Imerson, the u11’s batting award was won by Leo Mercy, the bowling award went to Matthew Greaves and the Managers player of the year was awarded to Daniel Heaton. The performance of the year was awarded to Thomas Dearden for the remarkable bowling performance when he bowled three overs and took four wickets for no runs against Wolviston. U13’s player of the year was Lucas Pilling, the batting award went to Joe Bowsher, the bowling award was won by Iain Robson and the Managers player of the year was Nathan Slater. The performance of the year was won by Lucas Pilling for scoring an incredible 31 not out, off only 11 balls against Darlington. All the above junior award winners are in the attahed photo with their trophies and their team coaches. Newton Aycliffe Cricket Club’s 1st team, sponsored by Franks the Flooring had a free week and the 2nd team’s final game of the season at home to Seaton Carew in the NYSD 3rd division was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to heavy rain.
