Dear Sir,
Why is it that every year there is someone willing to air their negative comments on what is a fantastic amenity provided by the Town Council!   It would have been better if the Mesdames Humble and Tinkler had complained about their supposed ‘poor meal’ direct to the hotel management, and presumably they rated it on the questionnaire provided by the Council, handed out on the homeward journey. I fail to see why they feel the need to spoil their otherwise complimentary letter by bringing this comment to the fore!
As a previous employee of the Town Council I am well aware of how much hard work goes into organising these trips (and all the other events provided), and although I have only been able to attend for the last three years I have never found cause to complain, and this year’s trip (Alnwick last week) was no different.
Tell me ladies, are you in the habit of taking yourselves off for the day, travelling over 100 miles, paying for fuel, morning coffee and biscuits and then a three course meal? I very much doubt it, so why complain when you’ve had all this for FREE (oh, and please don’t start spouting about it coming from your Council Tax, we already know that, just think of it as a summer trip savings scheme!)
On behalf of all those with NO complaint, well done GATC, and Marie in particular, for another sucessful season of trips.
M Miller
