Churches Together gave a Christmas Boost to Durham Foodbank based at St Clare’s Church with 200 selection boxes and a donation of cash.
Geoff Walvin Chair of Churches Together along with members of the churches presented Ernie and June Temple (seated front in the photo) with the goodies along with chocolates donated from Wilkinsons customers and a voucher from both Wilkinsons and Tescos.
Ernie was delighted to accept the gifts which will be given to all who use the foodbank and hoped that it brought a little Christmas cheer to families and individuals struggling financially through no fault of their own at this time of the year.
Ernie would like to thank the people of Great Aycliffe for their continued generosity and a special thank you to Wilkinsons and Tescos for their support.
The foodbank provides essential assistance to people of Aycliffe and surrounding areas and vouchers can be obtained from various agencies across the town, so no one need go hungry at this or any other time of the year.
