Dear Sir,
I support the letter of concern about our Town Centre over the closure of Poundstretchers and the suggestion that rent and rates are far too high in Aycliffe.
Surely reducing these overheads is better than having empty shops and the Manager’s reply that the Centre will be successful after the refurbishment is complete seems evasive.
I don’t understand the logic of demolishing shops when we should be trying to generate interest in people trading here.
Do the owners have a hidden agenda because on the face of it what’s happening here doesn’t make sense. If we carry on like this we will eventually have a ghost town.
