Classical music fans and guitar lovers are in for a treat when two North East talented young musicians, Tom Smith and Jonathan Parkin join forces for a Concert in Newton Aycliffe.
Tom from Hartlepool has sung for notable VIP’s including Prince Charles and is a superb recitalist performing extensively throughout the UK. He won both the Open Recital prize at the David Clover Festival and the John Gilbert Award.
Jonathan has delighted audiences across Europe with his guitar playing and won a host of competitions. He is currently studying for his Masters degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire on a full scholarship.
The Concert will include seminal works including Falla’s tribute to Spain, “Seite Canciones” and Benjamin Britten’s ingenious English folk arrangements along with a homage to Graeme Miles the Teesside songwriter who drew inspiration from this area’s industrial and natural beauty.
The concert is on Friday 26th February at 7.30pm in St. Mary’s Church, Newton Aycliffe. Tickets are priced at £10 but advanced ticket sales can be booked for £8 by contacting George Lee on 01325 316963.
