Woodham Academy has been awarded the top rating of 5 after a Durham County Council food hygiene inspection. This demonstrates a high standard of compliance with food safety legislation and robust management where cleanliness, equipment, preparation of food, layout and record keeping are assessed. Linda Vipond, Catering Manager, Claire Jeffery, Assistant Catering Manager and their enthusiastic, dedicated team received a certificate in recognition of achieving this high standard.
The Catering Team offers over 850 staff and students a range of services including Breakfast Club from 8.00 a.m., morning break snacks, lunchtime hot and cold meals, Sandwich Bar, Pasta Bar and even run special “Themed Days”. All meals are freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients. This means that the food on offer is appetising, healthy and good value for money.
