Bishop Celebrating Together took place last weekend where thousands of people enjoyed the entertainment, performances and activities.

The weekend kicked off on Friday night with the Full Moon Street Food Market where hundreds of people enjoyed the very best street food along with some live music. On Saturday there was a variety of local singers and entertainment on the main stage along with food stalls, traders and community groups.

Clive Auld, Chair of the Events Team, said; “This is one of our biggest events and we were pleased the rain stayed away and the towns people turned out. The singers were all brilliant and some of the highlights included Jack Drum Arts who brought the carnival atmosphere into the market place with their popular ‘Runaway Samba’. The Sandra Welsh School of Dance performed three impressive dance routines and Innovations who the crowds absolutely loved.”

Lee Brownson added; “We were so pleased the turnout from the public and many shops and business reported they had record sales. The weekend is all about celebrating everything about the town with live music, entertainment, great food, activities and people having lots of fun!”

The annual event began in 2017 and is organised by the Bishop Auckland Town Team volunteers and supported by Bishop Auckland Town Council.

The next Town Team event is Monster Saturday taking place on Saturday 26th October.
