Dear Sir,

I am dismayed at the thoughtlessness of the individual who is exercising a horse along the grassed area fronting Welbury Grove and Ross Walk on the Eastern side of the Town.

The ground is saturated and the horse hooves are leaving extremely large divots that will not naturally recover in the current wet and cold environment. This is not a recognised bridleway and the people who live in the area do not need the ground to be unnecessarily churned up and left looking blighted.

I have no objection to horses being exercised nor would I seek to curtail the enjoyment of horse riding. I would simply ask that some consideration be given to the local environment that we all cherish.
